them BIG prints...

click and make it bigger...

okay, wow, this can't wait till the month in review...sometime in september i ran into michael e. northrup at an assignment...he's a photographer and avid remote controlled model airplane flyer...got to talking, checked out his work, exchanged e-mails, and scheduled a print swap...today, i brought him a print and he let me choose any image i wanted...any image...i picked one from his book...i gave him one of my skate club (signed on the back with a note saying 'manassas, va 2008')...i felt kinda lame because i came packing an 11x14 while he printed off a 24x20 on his epson7800200199 AND gave me the wooden frame (signed on the back with a note saying 'tonguing 1978')...thirty years apart and photography is still going strong...uh!...so, ran around this afternoon finding backing and getting a piece of glass cut to complete the work...shit, hell yeah, goddamn what a nice guy...i got to see more of his work not included on his site and wow, i can't believe some of those images are lying dormant on a hard-drive in baltimore...we talked about the slight downside to digital photography, but overwhelming upsides...and prints...everyone (anyone?) interested in a print exchange that reads this blog, e-mail me at drew.anthony.smith@gmail.com and i'll begin figuring something out...because, uh, yea, you know, that photospectra thing has kinda stopped because i'm about to get clickin'...

so, here is my new piece of art...it hangs above my bed...i love it...thank you...
